All young people need to be registered and to complete a medical form on arrival with their parents.
The youth programme is a blend of teaching, discussion, activities and fun, which looks at issues affecting young Catholics today within the contaxt of their own lives.
We do this through looking at Jesus’ teaching brought to life through drama, music, art and personal testimonies/sharing.
The focus will be on young people aged 13 -18 who will be encouraged to develop and use their talents. The young people have a youth mass on the Wednesday evening where they use their own unique skills and understand to open up the scriptures and present the living Word through dance, music, art to the conference. It is a joyful and powerful experience for both young people and the gathered assembly.
We begin and end our days with all those at the Conference, starting with Praise and Worship in the morning and Mass at the end of the day. As many young people come with their families these collective acts of worship unity us and celebrates our unity in the Body of Christ.
Within the group a sense of community and family is created so that the young people bond with each other and enjoy the experience of being part of a safe environment. This is important so that individually and collectively they can grow in understanding of themselves and each other as children, loved and accepted by God our Father.
The Youth Leader is a professionally qualified youth worker with experience of both Christian, Voluntary and Statutory Youth Work, she presently works for Birmingham Catholic Youth Service (BCYS) who will be sponsoring her to work this week as part of her Ministry in the Diocese.
Outside of scheduled sessions – a copy of which will be given to you at registration – the young people are the responsibility of their parents/guardians.
Consent needs to be given for photographs to be taken and used for our website.
